**General Surgery Opening in Berlin, NH**_x000D_ -Full Time & Permanent._x000D_ -Prefer candidates have prior experience (at least 2-5 years) in broad spectrum of general surgery._x000D_ -H1-B and J-1 visa candidates will be considered._x000D_ _x000D_ **Job Summary:**_x000D_ Seeking a full-time (4.0 or 4.5 days/week) general surgeon to join a team of part-time and per diem general surgeons (system of 3 Critical Access Hospitals) to offer a broad scope of practice typical for a rural community. Offers the broad scope of practice of a typical rural, community surgeon. Provides office-based general surgery services to new and established patients of all ages, including initial consultation for common general surgery concerns, performance of minor procedures, education and counseling of patients and families, ordering diagnostic tests, referral to related other specialties within and at tertiary care centers, and communication with PCPs. Clinical support is provided by a medical assistant._x000D_ _x000D_ **Most commonly diagnoses encountered are:**_x000D_ -Hernias (inguinal and umbilical) _x000D_ -GERD and related symptoms _x000D_ -Rectal bleeding _x000D_ -Gallbladder disease _x000D_ -Colon polyps or screening for colon cancer _x000D_ -Hemorrhoids _x000D_ -Sebaceous cyst _x000D_ -Dysphagia _x000D_ -Breast Conditions _x000D_ -Diverticulitis _x000D_ -Skin lesions (including cancers) _x000D_ -Provides operative (open and laparoscopic) and endoscopic procedures_x000D_ _x000D_ **Requirements**_x000D_ Currently holds (or can obtain) an active Medical License to practice Surgery in New Hampshire. Holds a doctoral degree in medicine from an accredited program and completed residency & internships as required by NH. Provides evidence of prior prescriptive privileges, as well as DEA number and is certified through the American Board of Surgery._x000D_ _x000D_ Experience requirements include practical experience in a hospital and clinic settings, in-depth knowledge of modern surgical and therapeutic treatments, high level of patience and empathy and exceptional diagnostic & decision-making skills. _x000D_ _x000D_ Must have excellent interpersonal, time management, decision making and communication skills, emotionally resilient and ability to maintain a good working relationship with all levels of personnel, medical staff, administration, and the public. Additionally, requires fantastic manual dexterity, hand eye coordination & visuospatial awareness._x000D_ _x000D_ -Prefer candidates have prior experience (at least 2-5 years) in broad spectrum of general surgery and endoscopy. _x000D_ -Prior experience in a small hospital or CAH desired. _x000D_ -Must be comfortable with rural nature of practice/hospital, limited general surgery colleagues, solo coverage on call, and AVHs complement of specialists (surgical and medical) and diagnostic testing capacity. _x000D_ -Special clinical interests/expertise to complement those of current part-time general surgeon and expand scope of services to our region are always welcomed. Candidate must be willing to offer the broad scope of practice of a typical rural, community surgeon. _x000D_ -Team oriented, collaborative, and patient focused. High level of customer service (patient satisfaction) is expected.
