Job Description
The departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia are looking to hire a PhD scientist or neuro-oncologist physician-scientist.
- The successful candidate will be collaborative and will run a strong basic and translational research laboratory focused on glioma.
- Thomas Jefferson University covers a large population in Philadelphia, south NJ and Delaware.
- The team currently includes four neurosurgeons, three neuro-oncologists and three CNS radiation oncologists. The team works closely with clinicians and researchers at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center as well as the Vickie & Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience.
- The team holds weekly tumor board and pathology review meetings.
- The team is active in clinical trials and translational research.
- Clinical responsibilities (for physicians) include outpatient clinic taking care of patients with benign and malignant primary and metastatic brain tumors.
- Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with professional experience and qualifications.
The Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson Health is an NCI-designated consortium cancer center that includes researchers from Thomas Jefferson University and Drexel University.
