Our client, a 500+ bed medical center on Long Island, is hiring a Wound Care Surgeon.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assessment, evaluation, and treatment of patients, specifically those with acute and/or chronic wounds, and ostomy management
- Education as well as management of fistulae, tubes, skin, and incontinence issues
- Work in conjunction with physicians, nursing staff and ancillary staff to evaluate, propose, plan and perform patient assessment and treatments
- Oversee inpatient, outpatient wound services and the hyperbaric oxygen treatment
- Perform teaching and quality control for the wound services
- Function as member of team to review wound services performance, policies and initiatives.
- Work in an article 28 Center when not in surgery
- Join the wound care team
Job Requirements:
- Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, or Wound Care Surgery
- HBO (Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment) Certified
- Broad and in-depth technical knowledge and skills related to the practice of medicine and wound care
