Fellowship Trained in Microsurgery is strongly preferred. An interest in oncology is necessary, and experience with DIEP, SIEA, and free TRAM breast reconstruction are required. Interest in Head and Neck free tissue transfer is desirable as well. This is a Faculty position at the Instructor/Assistant/Associate Professor level depending on the extent of training and prior experience.

The Medical Center is the region’s only academic medical center and level 1 Trauma Center. General and Oral Surgery Residents actively participate in the activities of the Division of Plastic Surgery; there are no plastic surgery residents. The Medical Center specializes in tertiary care with specific concentrations in the following Centers of Excellence:

  • Cancer
  • Emergency and Trauma
  • Brain Spine
  • Women’s and Children’s Heart
  • Lung Vascular

The successful candidate will join the practice of 3 other Plastic Surgeons with a tremendous reputation in the region, and will be the fourth member of the Division of Plastic Surgery. This position offers a competitive salary guarantee, a comprehensive benefit package, and support for development of a reconstructive and cosmetic practice. There is ample freedom to develop a cosmetic practice, but a commitment to performing complex, microsurgical reconstruction is expected.

Amenities to be found in the community include no state income tax, low cost of living, pleasant weather, many local activities and close proximity to cities such as Atlanta, Nashville and Charlotte.
