The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, is seeking an outstanding Colon & Rectal Surgeon looking to join a busy and growing practice which offers the highest quality care to patients in East Tennessee as well as the surrounding 100 mile radius area which includes Southeastern Kentucky, Southwestern Virginia and Northwestern North Carolina.
This practice is 100 percent dedicated to Colon & Rectal Surgery in a busy benign and malignant practice. The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville is one of the three main teaching centers for The University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s College of Medicine in Memphis. This opportunity comes with a non-tenure track faculty appointment. Colorectal Surgery plays an integral part in the training of our General Surgery Residents as well as 3rd and 4th year Medical Students. The academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
Prior experience is helpful but not required. A hospital guarantee salary is available for those that qualify as well as a full and extensive benefit package. The entire spectrum of Colon and Rectal Surgery is encompassed within this practice, including benign anorectal surgery, robotic and laparoscopic abdominal procedures, inflammatory bowel disease, colon and rectal cancer, anorectal physiology, pelvic floor disorders and colonoscopy. The individual we are seeking should be experienced in minimally invasive colorectal surgery and familiar with additional advanced operative techniques, such as trans-anal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS), as well as traditional open surgery.
This individual will join a practice with two very busy colon and rectal surgeons, as well as an affiliation with University Surgical Oncology. The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville is a level one (1) trauma center and there are General Surgeons in house on call 24 hours a day, so there is no General Surgery call required of the Colon Rectal Surgeon.
