The Department of Surgery, Division of Colon & Rectal Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine in conjunction with the Yale-New Haven Health System is seeking academically oriented and qualified surgeons to join our faculty and provide services Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT. Applications are invited for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine and Yale New Haven Health Systems and our offsite Clinics. We are seeking candidates with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills and the commitment to make important contributions to the field of Colon & Rectal Surgery and developing an academic career.

Qualified candidates will have a strong record of clinical excellence with accomplishments in basic or clinical research, a strong commitment to surgical education and teaching, and an interest and expertise in Colon & Rectal Surgery. Candidates should have completed a Colon & Rectal Fellowship and should be Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Surgery and Board Eligible/Board Certified in Colon and Rectal Surgery.

Qualifications

Yale-New Haven Hospital is a 1541-bed Level 1 Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients, and a major tertiary referral center for Connecticut and the Northeast. The Colon and Rectal Surgery service has eight surgeons across the system with four surgeons who provide care at New-Haven with an APRN and two outpatient stoma nurses. Approximately 900 bowel resections and 1400 outpatient procedures are performed across the health system. Colonoscopies are also performed by most of the providers. In addition to excellent clinical and teaching skills, the successful candidate should be comfortable with advanced minimally invasive/robotic surgery. Endoscopic as well as pelvic floor/anorectal surgery skills are mandatory. The faculty member will be expected to teach medical students, and residents, and to participate in clinical research.
