Locums – Marquette, Michigan, CVT Surgery Opening Clinical Role:

  • Dates:
    • 7/14-7/21
    • 11/10-11/17
    • 12/15-12/22
  • Monday – Sunday 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM 24-hour call
  • The above applies to the first 1-2 assignments
  • It’s possible that if the locum will be returning on a frequent/consistent basis, the following schedule will apply as the department will utilize the locum for scheduled outpatient procedures on the weekdays:
  • Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM regular onsite hours, followed by 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM night call.
  • Saturday & Sunday 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM 24-hour call
  • Both TAVR and CABG required
  • General CV/thoracic surgery - open
  • Coronary artery bypass surgery on and off pump
  • Congenital defects (ASD, VSD, PFO, etc.)
  • Valvular -repair and replacement
  • Aneurysm repair- cardiac and aorto-thoracic
  • Lung resection (including VATs)
  • Chest wall or pleural procedures
  • AICD (Automatic Internal Cardiac Defibrillator)
  • Vent Management
  • APP takes the first call, procedures needed: CABGE, valves, vascular would be a huge plus thoracic would be a bonus.
  • Hospital service/rounding ambulatory clinic around hospital service
  • Phone Consults: As Needed
  • Typically, 6-10 calls per night; 2-5 expected onsite call-ins
  • Physicians are not required to remain on-site while providing night or weekend call support.
  • When on call, physicians should only be on site for call-back hours while providing direct patient care
  • 20 Beds in Facility
  • Admissions: 24-hour hospital service
  • Call Ratio: 1:2
  • 30 Minutes call response time required
  • Assigned/Unassigned Patients
  • Board Certification in Thoracic Surgery Required
  • Fellowship Required
  • ACLS Required
  • Trauma Level II
  • EMR: Athena and Cerner
