We Are seeking a Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon for locum tenens coverage. This position is ideal for a highly skilled surgeon capable of managing both vascular and thoracic cases during a short-term assignment. The role involves providing ED and Cath lab call coverage. MUST be able to perform BOTH Vascular & Thoracic surgeries.
- Perform both vascular and thoracic surgeries, including:
- General CV/thoracic procedures
- Coronary artery bypass surgeries (on and off pump)
- Valvular repair and replacement
- Lung resections (including VATS)
- Aneurysm repairs and other advanced vascular interventions
- Provide expert surgical care in emergency and cath lab settings.
- Respond to beeper calls with a maximum 30-minute response time.
- Collaborate with support staff, including 1 PA/NP, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize Athena/Medhost EMR systems for documentation.
- Proficiency in advanced cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, including CABG, TAVR, lung resections, and aneurysm repairs.
- Strong ability to handle high-pressure situations in ED and cath lab settings.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills for working with interdisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with Athena/Medhost EMR systems preferred.
- Lodging recommendations available upon request.
- Temporary privileges are available with a quick credentialing timeframe (4 days).
Job Responsibilities

Qualifications
Completion of a fellowship in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.
Active Texas medical license (required).
Current certifications in ACLS and ATLS.
Expertise in a wide range of surgical skills, including vascular and thoracic procedures.
