The Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon provides temporary surgical care to patients requiring surgery for heart, lung, and chest conditions. This role involves diagnosing, planning, and performing complex cardiothoracic surgeries, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), heart valve repairs or replacements, and lung resections. The locum cardiothoracic surgeon will collaborate with the surgical team, including anesthesiologists, intensivists, and nurses, to deliver high-quality care in a dynamic hospital setting.

Job Responsibilities

- Practice Setting (Office-Clinic/Outpatient/Hospital Based/Rounding): All
- Schedule (Shifts and Hours): 12 hour shifts 3-4 times per week/Saturday & Sunday 7a-7a (24 hours on call)
- Average Number of Cases Per Day: 2-3
- Trauma Level/Designation: Trauma 3
- Number of Operating Rooms: 3 for CVTS
- Documentation System/EMR: EPIC & Cupid
- Patient Age Demographic (Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric): Adult 25+

Qualifications

REQUIRED - Board Certified (BC in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery ABTS/ABMS)
REQUIRED - Fellowship Training
REQUIRED - BLS & ACLS
REQUIRED - FL State License

Working Hours

- 12 hour shifts /3-4 times a week
- Weekend Requirements: As part of schedule
- On Call Requirements: 1:3
