The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Vandalia Health is recruiting a full-time BC Cardiac Surgeon for Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) in Charleston, WV.
CAMC is a nonprofit, 1,138-bed regional referral center made up of seven hospitals: CAMC General Hospital, CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, CAMC Memorial Hospital, CAMC Plateau Medical Center, CAMC Charleston Surgical Hospital, CAMC Teays Valley Hospital and CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital, as well as the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine and the CAMC Foundation. More than 1,500 providers are members of the medical staff of CAMC, which is also West Virginia's premiere medical teaching facility, hosting, on any given day, more than 1,000 students in programs leading to degrees or certifications in health professions. CAMC is home to one of the highest volume heart programs in the nation. The newly hired surgeon will be one of 5 in the Cardiac Division and will be operating at CAMC Memorial, the flagship hospital for cardiovascular medicine in the system.

Our team of cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists, electrophysiologists and vascular surgeons have extensive experience treating a wide array of conditions. Multidisciplinary care is provided via a team approach with surgery, interventional and structural cardiology supported by professionals with advanced cardiac imaging skills in CT, MRI and Echo.
Under the auspices of the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine, CAMC is a growing academic medical center sponsoring 18 accredited medical residencies and fellowship programs, including fellowships in cardiovascular disease fellowship and interventional cardiology. CAMC is home to two regional medical school campuses. Adjacent to CAMC Memorial, a new 56,37 3 square foot Center for Learning and Research has recently been completed and houses a 14,000 square foot simulation center and other facilities dedicated to our education and research programs.
Located within a natural playground of rolling, wooded hills containing the confluence of the Elk and Kanawha rivers, Charleston is the historic state capital and largest city in the state. A full benefits package is offered along with a very competitive salary at $1M+, commensurate with the candidate’s experience. A signing bonus and relocation expense reimbursement are also provided.
The candidate will have significant input into shaping the Division and will be given support to develop clinical and research interests.Qualifications
At least 5 years’ experience in CABG, aortic surgery, TAVR, valve repair and valve replacement. Minimally invasive and ECMO experience are desired.
