VeloSource has a Cardiothoracic Surgery Opportunity in Altoona, PA.

• Active PA state license required
• Must be Board Certified
• Minimum # Years Experience: 2
• Certifications Required: ACLS; BLS
• Trauma Level Designation: Level III
• Coverage Need: Looking for a provider to cover cases/call when primary surgeon is on vacation or needs weekends off.
• Shifts: Typically 2 long weekends per month (Thursday 7a - Monday 7a) and any additional stretches for PTO or holidays.
• Call: Minimal calls on inpatients and admissions. Rarely get urgent dissections or overnight needs that require surgical intervention. Do not need the provider to be in house 24/7, but need to be available no more than a 30 minute response time for calls.
• Providers Typical Day: Rounding on inpatients, cases, clinic. It varies. Wednesdays are TAVRs and TAVR and TAVR clinic days.
• Typical Cases Seen: Bread and butter Cardiac cases. CABG, AVR, MVR
• Travel Covered: Mileage (Personal Vehicle); Airfare; Lodging; Parking; Rental Car & Fuel
