Facility in Altoona, PA seeking Cardiothoracic Surgery locums coverage

Rates: $4000/day

Position Details:

• Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery

• Start Date: November 4, 2024

• Schedule: Part-time; typically 2 long weekends per month (Thursday-Monday) with additional coverage during holidays and PTO.

• Shift Requirements: Provider will cover from Thursday 7am to Monday 7am (consecutive days).

• Call Requirements: Minimal calls on inpatients and admissions, rare urgent surgeries needed overnight. Must be within 30-minute response time (hotel stay provided nearby).

• On Call: Yes, 24-hour call with in-house rounding and surgical cases.

• Rounding: Includes inpatients, cases, and clinic duties (clinic and TAVR on Wednesdays).

• Average Admissions While On Call: 2

• EMR: EPIC & Cerner

Practice Information:

• Cases Seen: Bread and butter cardiac surgeries such as CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting), AVR (Aortic Valve Replacement), MVR (Mitral Valve Repair/Replacement).

• Support: No APP coverage on weekends, and OR staff is on-call only.

• Patient Mix: 100% adult cases.

Requirements:

• Board Certified – REQUIRED

• Pennsylvania State License – REQUIRED

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience.

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, DEA – REQUIRED
