Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our team in South Carolina. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiothoracic surgery and be proficient in performing a variety of procedures, including hearts, TAVRs, and lungs/robotic lungs. This position requires providing call and OR coverage, with a preference for candidates who can commit to 7-10 day stretches. Weekend candidates will also be considered. Responsibilities:

  • Perform cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures, including hearts, TAVRs, and lungs/robotic lungs
  • Provide call and OR coverage as required, including nights and weekends
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers (APPs) to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain accurate case logs and documentation of surgical procedures
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences

Qualifications:

  • Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Active South Carolina medical license
  • CSR (Certificate of Special Registration) and DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery with documented case logs
  • Proficiency in hearts required, TAVRs, and lungs/robotic lungs preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Assignment Details:

  • Call and OR coverage, including nights and weekends
  • Ideal candidate can cover 7-10 day stretches, but weekend candidates will also be considered
  • Specific experience with hearts. TAVRs, and lungs/robotic lungs is preferred
  • Supported by a team of 5 advanced practice providers (4 PAs and 1 NP)
