Pediatric Pulmonology: Driscoll Children’s Hospital

Job Overview:

The Driscoll Health System is seeking an additional (new position) BE or BC Pediatric Pulmonologist Physician to join our robust practice engaged in providing the highest standard of care for its patients.

Our practice consists of a dedicated team of nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, dieticians, physical therapists, and clinical pharmacists. We care for all pulmonary diseases, with a focus on asthma, care of children requiring long-term ventilation, and cystic fibrosis. Since 2015 we have run the only Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-accredited CF center in South Texas. Our physician group consists of multiple subspecialty services such as neurology, endocrinology, nephrology, general surgery with additional surgical subspecialties, radiology, and pathology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Join a strong pediatric pulmonology department with great colleagues, collaboration, and mentorship. A large referral base with fascinating pathology allows the practice to make a large impact in the area.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement and research initiatives.

Qualification:

The ideal candidate (MD/DO) will have:

  • Successfully completed an ACGME or AOA-accredited residency in Pediatrics
  • Successfully completed an accredited fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology

About Driscoll Children's Hospital - Corpus Christi

Driscoll Children's Hospital is a 191-bed pediatric tertiary care center offering more than 30 medical and surgical specialties across South Texas, including Corpus Christi, Rio Grande Valley, Victoria, and Laredo. Our service area spans over 33,000 square miles and includes a rural, underserved population. We are home to one of the largest NICU populations in the country, with a state-of-the-art unit that hosts 60 beds.

The hospital's newest addition is a five-floor pavilion, which includes, but is not limited to, 35 dedicated CICU beds, 22 dedicated PICU beds, and a new day surgery unit.

Founded in 1953 through the vision and generosity of Clara Driscoll, Driscoll Children's Hospital was the first free-standing children's hospital in South Texas. Clara Driscoll's estate continues to fund the hospital to this day.
