COMPANY PROFILE:
Established in 1994, this multi-specialty physician group practice is focused in primary care (internal medicine and family medicine), but also boasts specialists in gastroenterology, radiology, urology, pediatrics, endocrinology, surgery, and more. They employ a provider team of nearly 20 practitioners and are currently hiring due to growth.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The practice has seven (7) offices in the greater Melbourne area, all located within a 15-mile radius to ensure minimal commutes for providers choosing to serve multiple locations.
The average number of patients per day varies by need and physician preference. Most physicians see an average of 22 to 25 patients per day, but this number is not mandated.
Typically, physicians work with the support of a partnered nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
Visits are scheduled based on the estimated length of time needed to ensure optimal attention for each patient. All patients are adult or geriatric.
Typical duties of the role include:
- examine patients and assess their medical conditions
- general rheumatology care
- initial patient consultations
- follow-up visits
- care plan creation and management
- perform procedures and treatments using appropriate methods
- prescribe medications as needed
- refer patients to other specialists when necessary
Physicians work with clinical assistants who room and prep patients, as well as assist during the visits as needed.
The practice utilizes the Veradigm (Allscripts) EHR system.
On-call duties are very minimal. An answering service and hospitalists address the majority of concerns and this position would rarely (if ever) be called.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Florida medical license
- DEA
