Residency Program Director Wanted for a South Texas Internal Medicine Program. Harlingen is located about 30 miles from the coast and 10 miles to the Border. It is the principal city of the Brownsville–Harlingen metropolitan area with a Population around 500K. Home of University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine Texas Tech Campus also features Semi Pro baseball International Airport. Residency Program Director for both Transitional Year and Internal Medicine Programs. Duties will be consistent with ACGME accreditation requirements. The Program Director will have academic faculty appointment through the affiliate medical school. Be Responsible for the general administration, curriculum planning, recruitment, and teaching and supervision of Residency Program. establishes the strategic direction of the Program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of such. Support integration of the Program with physician practices and hospital clinical services
Responsibilities of the Program Director are as follows:
Dedicate no less than 50% (at least 20 hours per week) of his or her professional effort to the administrative and educational activities of the Program.

Qualifications:
- ABMS or equivalent board certification in Internal Medicine
- APD or PD experience preferred
- Post-residency clinical experience with additional experience as a faculty member with an accredited residency program required
- Experience in GME leadership as Program Director/ Associate Program Director/Core Faculty for a minimum of three years with strong record of academic achievement
- Excellent leadership, clinical and communication skills
