Job Description

Last Update: 11/11/24

This well-established collegial private practice is seeking a third board certified/board eligible Interventional Radiologist to join their growing, three-physician, four physician extender outpatient and hospital-based practice. The Interventional Radiologist will be joining a practice which is completely independent of diagnostic radiology and will do 100% IR. The current practice consists of two Interventional Radiologists, and a general surgeon whose practice has heavy emphasis in vascular work including bypass grafts, dialysis access, endarterectomy, and AAA repair.

Recently featured on The BackTable Podcast, the practice is a complete, comprehensive, and clinical Vascular and Interventional Radiology practice. Patients are seen longitudinally including in our physician-owned office building. We have a beautiful clinic which is open 5 days a week with 16 full-time employees including vascular sonographers, nurses, MAs, a scribe, receptionists, billers, schedulers, a referral coordinator, and a dialysis access coordinator.

We believe in and practice Clinical IR. We have developed a strong primary care referral network. Advanced IR is practiced including PAD, AAA repair, carotid intervention, Interventional Oncology (Y90, TACE, ablation, etc), UFE, PAE, venous thromboembolic disease intervention (PE, DVT), venous insufficiency treatment (deep and superficial), vertebral augmentation (including SpineJack), dialysis access intervention (declots, fistulograms, percutaneous fistula creation, tunneled catheter placement), TIPS and traditional "bread and butter" IR (ports, G-tubes, biopsies, drains, etc). PICCs are not a part of the IR service as the hospital has a PICC team. Routine CVLs are not typically performed by the IR service.

Call is a 1 in 3 rotation at a Level-III Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will assist the group by helping with the current workload, grow the current service lines, begin new service lines and evolve the practice. We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated about IR and practice growth. VITA has been in existence for over 15 years and is continuing to grow. We believe in partnership equity.

This is a private practice group with an academic component, holding Associate Professor appointments with Florida State University College of Medicine which is about 45 minutes away. Associate Professor positions are also held at The Medical College of Georgia and Philadelphia College of Medicine (Moultrie, GA). We hold faculty appointments with the Archbold Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency. Teaching of medical students and residents is welcomed and encouraged, but not required.
