Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Director/General Radiologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. As Medical Director, you will oversee the clinical operations of the radiology department while providing high-quality imaging services as a general radiologist.
Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage the radiology department, ensuring high standards of medical practice, quality, and patient safety.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and initiatives.
- Oversee radiology staff, including radiologists, technologists, and administrative personnel, ensuring adequate training and professional development.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements for the radiology department.

Clinical Duties:
- Provide expert diagnostic interpretation of a wide range of imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy.
- Perform procedures as required, such as image-guided biopsies or drainage procedures.
- Offer consultations and second opinions on complex cases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a high level of diagnostic accuracy and timely reporting of imaging studies.

Quality & Safety:
- Lead quality assurance and improvement initiatives within the radiology department.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and guidelines related to radiation exposure, patient handling, and imaging procedures.
- Monitor and analyze clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction to drive continuous improvement.

Education & Training:
- Provide mentorship and support to junior radiologists and medical staff, ensuring ongoing professional development.
- Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows as part of academic or clinical training programs, if applicable.

Administrative Duties:
- Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
- Oversee the integration of new technologies, equipment, and systems within the radiology department.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize patient flow and streamline imaging processes.

Collaboration & Communication:
- Foster strong relationships with referring physicians, clinical teams, and administration to promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining procedures and imaging results as needed.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in radiology through continuing medical education (CME's) and professional development.
- Education: MD or DO degree with completion of a residency in Radiology; fellowship training in a sub-specialty (optional, but preferred).
- Licensure/Certifications: Board Certification in Radiology, valid state medical license, and any other relevant certifications (e.g., American Board of Radiology).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in general radiology, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience in managing teams and overseeing clinical operations.
- Expertise in all diagnostic imaging modalities (X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy).
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to make sound clinical decisions and manage complex cases.
- Knowledge of medical regulations, quality standards, and best practices in radiology.
- Proficiency with radiology information systems (RIS) and picture archiving communication systems (PACS).
