Position Summary: We provide multi-modality radiology services for University Medical Center – New Orleans, a Level 1 trauma center, and support the faculty group practice, the LSU Health Care Network. Responsibilities will include -image interpretation as well as resident and medical student education. There are ample opportunities to engage in clinical research and scholarship. International candidates with exceptional training and background or seeking J-1 waiver are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
·Interpret a wide range of imaging studies, including X-rays, CT, MRI, and ultrasound, across various organ systems and clinical scenarios.
·Provide expert consultation to referring physicians and participate in multidisciplinary case conferences.
·Teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical settings, case-based learning sessions, and didactic lectures.
·Engage in scholarly activities such as clinical research, quality improvement projects, or educational innovation.
·Participate in departmental and institutional activities, including committees, and academic meetings.
·Contribute to the development and implementation of protocols and guidelines to enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient care.
Qualifications:
·MD or equivalent degree from an accredited medical school.
·ABR Certified or on the pathway to full board-certification.
·Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana before hire date.
·Demonstrated experience in general radiology, with proficiency in multiple imaging modalities.
·Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to academic medicine.
Preferred Qualifications:
·Fellowship training in Body Imaging, MSK, or MRI preferred.
·Experience and/or special interest in Cardiac Imaging is a bonus.
·A track record of scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or participation in academic societies.
·Experience in teaching and mentoring trainees at various levels.
