Mineral King Radiological Medical Group is a private practice in Visalia that’s been around for over 50 years and has 10 partnered radiologists. Mineral King is associated with Kaweah Health Medical Center which is a 613-bed hospital with level III trauma designation. They staff the main hospital and their outpatient imaging center as well as their own outpatient imaging center. The group also owns their own outpatient interventional radiology center.

- Reason for recruitment: There are a couple partners nearing retiring.
Position Details – General Diagnostic/Breast Imaging:
Seeking a board eligible/board certified Diagnostic Radiologist ideally with some experience in breast imaging, specifically screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast biopsies, and breast MRI. MQSA Certification is required, and Breast Imaging Fellowship is preferred, but not required.
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
- Breast and Biopsy Volume: 38-45 screenings, 10-12 Diagnostics daily average. Procedures vary day to day, weekly average is 2 stereo and 5 ultrasound breast biopsies.
- Practice Mix: the position can be 70% mammo and 30% general diagnostic or the reverse depending on the physician’s preference. Group staffs two outpatient breast centers in addition to two imaging centers and one hospital.
- Call: General Weekday Call shift taken 1 week every 8 weeks from 1700-0800 the following morning. Evenings are staffed, so getting called in or staying past 5pm is extremely rare. Weekend general call shift is 1:8, working onsite Sat & Sun, 8:00 am until 2:00 pm. Again weekend evenings are also remotely staffed, so staying past 5pm is very rare.

Position Details – Interventional Radiology:
Seeking a board certified, Fellowship trained Interventional Radiologist. CAQ certification is preferred, but not required.
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
- Study and Procedure Volume: IR/Procedure volumes vary by day. IR positions typically assist with reading plain films when not in IR. All radiologists rotate through the cross-sectional job slot. The majority of time IR will be scheduled in Angio, procedures or the group owned outpatient IR center.
- Call: 1:4 weekday IR call (5p-8a). IR weekend call is 1:4 (48 hrs).
Practice Mix: 70-75% Interventional Radiology and with some time in General Diagnostic - What procedures will they be expected to do: most vascular and non-vascular interventions, complex high acuity procedures, Trauma 3 hospital. Radiologist owned OBL- varicose veins, UFE, GAE, ERSD, starting Y90 program in 2025

Compensation for IR and General/Mammo:
- Guaranteed Starting Base Salary: 550,000 a year, potential for additional earned compensation
- Sign-on Bonus: $100,000
- Relocation: up to $15,000
- Student Loan repayment: $100,000
- Vacation: 8 weeks 1st year, 10 weeks 2nd year and 12 weeks 3rd year
- Partnership Track: 2 years
- Buy-in – Typically covered by first bonus – On average around $40,000
- Total Earning Potential/Salary structure once partner: $750,000-$900,000+

Mineral King Radiological Medical Group is located in the Central Valley, in the heart of California. Visalia is the gateway to the Sequoia National Park, home to the General Sherman, the world's largest tree. Only 1-2 hours away from both the Sequoia National Park and Yosemite National Park. Visalia is located 3 hours South of San Francisco and 2.5 hours North of Los Angeles. There are many coastal towns to enjoy as well, with easy day trip access.
