OneStaff Locums has a facility just north of Sacramento CA that is needing coverage for about 1 week per month.

Job Responsibilities

Setting: General Acute Care Hospital (Stroke Certified, not Chest Pain Center accredited, not a Trauma Level designation)
Duties: Hospital Coverage, we have a need for a Radiologist to cover the Hospital which involves the IR needs along with Stroke CT's and other procedures/availability.
Required Procedures: IR Procedures (Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy Tubes, Intra-abdominal abscess drainage, Chest Tubes, Suprapubic Catheters); CT/US Biopsies (Thyroid, Lung, Other), Barium studies, Lumbar punctures.
EMR: Cerner
Support Staff: Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) Nurses and Techs; We do have a large Radiology group in Sacramento that performs overflow and after-hours reads
Admissions per day: 12-15

Patients/day: ED Daily Volume is 85-90 patients/day, Average Daily Inpatient/Obs Census is ~50 patients (includes ICU and OB).

Types of cases: Surgical, Medical, ICU, and OB


Based on review of the last several months of volume,
we would expect the following studies interpreted per day and procedures performed per day:
TOTAL: ~50 studies/day + 5-8 procedures/day
BREAKDOWN of Daily Work
CT’s: 15-20
XRays: 15-20
US’s: 10
MRI’s: 5
IR: 5-8 procedures

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible – Required
CA Active license – Required
Residency Required – Required
BLS and DEA required during credentialing. CA Fluoroscopy required at submission!
Malpractice/Background – Required

8a-430pm with night call after 430p
