Job Title: Locum Interventional Radiologist
Location: Washington, NC Area

Job Description:
A healthcare facility in the Washington, NC area is seeking a Board-Certified Vascular Interventional Radiologist to provide locum tenens coverage for its Interventional/Vascular Radiology service. This opportunity is located at a large, high-acuity medical center offering comprehensive interventional radiology services. The assignment is available immediately and will be ongoing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inpatient clinical duties, including rounding, consults, patient history, physical exams, ordering diagnostic tests, patient education, and bedside procedures.
  • Provide outpatient care via the facility's Ambulatory Radiology Unit (ARU).
  • Participate in a rotating call schedule (either 1:6 or 1:7), including nights and weekends.
  • Average inpatient census: 12 patients per day.
  • Anticipated patient volume: Up to 25 patients per day.
  • Average caseload per provider: 6-8 patients/day.
  • Volume split: 50% inpatient, 50% outpatient.
  • No ICU/critical care responsibilities required.
  • Respond to codes; backup for the ER is not required.
  • Less than 1% of outpatient visits result in admissions.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 7 PM.
  • On-call duties for nights and weekends.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Pay rate: $350-$400 per hour.
  • Housing, travel, and malpractice coverage are provided.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of patients and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information:

  • The locum tenens provider will join an established clinical team consisting of physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • When on call, providers are not required to remain onsite.
