Job Description
The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at Yale University School of Medicine is seeking a board eligible/certified radiologist with expertise in body/abdominal imaging for a full-time faculty appointment on Yale University’s Clinical Track. Academic rank at Yale School of Medicine will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements.
The Body Imaging Division at the Yale Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging has a track record of providing high quality, timely and progressive body imaging using high-end equipment. We are highly valued by our clinical colleagues for our subspecialist expertise. The body imaging services we offer are in high demand across the Yale New Haven Health System and we are now looking for additional skilled attendings to join our team of dedicated abdominal and ultrasound radiologists at the Assistant or Associate Professor level on our Clinical Track.
While some sessions will be performed in New Haven, the primary site for coverage is Bridgeport Hospital, an affiliate of Yale-New Haven Health, located in vibrant Fairfield County, Connecticut, just outside the New York metropolitan area. This 425 bed hospital has the region’s only burns unit, is a Level II trauma center and includes adult/neonatal ICUs. Bridgeport Hospital’s delivery network consists of this acute care teaching hospital, the Milford Hospital campus and both hospital’s ambulatory sites across the region. The Diagnostic Radiology residency program at Bridgeport Hospital is an ACGME accredited, four-year residency training program approved for 16 residents. The program offers exposure and volume to a diverse case mix. Bridgeport offers state-of-the art radiology equipment including a new Force CT scanner installed in 2021. The information system is interfaced with the entire Yale New Haven Health information system for improved patient care.
Qualifications
Board eligible/certified Radiologists with Body, Abdominal, or Ultrasound fellowship training who have clinical proficiency in CT, MRI, ultrasound, plain radiography or GI/GU fluoroscopic studies are encouraged to apply. As a faculty member on the Clinical Track, no scholarly output is expected although a willingness to collaborate with research projects taking place in the department is encouraged. Strong clinical leadership, teaching and service development successes may be used for promotion to Associate and Full Professor.
