**Pulmonary Critical Care Opportunity in Saginaw, MI**
Health Network is seeking a Pulmonary Critical Care Physician to join our dedicated team serving patients in state-of-the-art facilities in Saginaw, MI. This role offers a unique mix of outpatient pulmonology and critical care, with opportunities for program development in advanced pulmonary services.
**Position Highlights**
**Schedule & Call Expectations**
- **Critical Care Coverage**: Approximately one week per month dedicated to ICU service.
- **Outpatient Pulmonology**: Two weeks of outpatient clinic duties per month, focusing on conditions such as COPD, asthma, and lung cancer.
- **Inpatient Pulmonary**: As-needed coverage only; not a regular part of the schedule.
- **Call**:
- No routine night, weekend, or holiday call (covered by nocturnists).
- Optional compensated night shifts or infrequent partner coverage.
- Holiday ICU shifts are proportionally distributed among staff.
**Facilities & Resources**
- **Pulmonary-Specific Resources**:
- Endoscopy suite with EBUS capability.
- ION bronchoscopy technology anticipated next fiscal year.
- Plans for a lung nodule clinic for care coordination and procedural opportunities.
- **Critical Care Facilities**:
- Three ICUs with a fourth opening soon.
- Dedicated ICU beds supported by multidisciplinary teams.
- Employed Critical Care Intensivists and Nocturnists.
- **Support Services**:
- Access to interventional radiology (IR) for collaborative care.
- APPs available for procedures, charting, and patient support.
**Procedural Responsibilities**
- **Critical Care Procedures**: Intubations, central line placement, tube thoracostomy, therapeutic bronchoscopy, temporary pacemakers, and procedural sedation.
- **Pulmonary Procedures**: Bronchoscopy and thoracentesis; collaboration with IR and APPs as needed.
- **Preferred Skills**: Advanced bronchoscopy experience (e.g., ION, EBUS) is advantageous but not mandatory.
**Team & Support Structure**
- **Critical Care Team**:
- Three attending physicians and 12 APPs per day shift.
- Night shifts staffed by one attending and one APP.
- **Pulmonology Team**:
- Full-time outpatient pulmonologists, combined pulmonary/critical care physicians, and APPs.
- Supported by 3 RNs and medical assistants in the outpatient clinic.
