St. Joseph’s Norton Thoracic Institute continues to successfully complete 1000 transplants soon .The lung transplant program, which launched in April 2007, cares for approximately 1,000 post-transplant patients and ranks fourth in the nation for overall lung transplant volume. In addition, the program is recognized by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) as the only center within the top-five lung transplant volume hospitals (and in Arizona) to achieve the highest possible quality marks for lung transplants (measured as “survival on the waitlist,” “getting a transplant faster,” and “1-year lung survival”) consecutive years. Responsibilities
Lung Transplant Pulmonologist
The John and Doris Norton Cardiothoracic and Transplantation Institute (NTI) at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Transplant Pulmonologist. We are seeking faculty physicians interested in practicing in an academic environment with a strong interest in teaching, clinical research, and clinical care.
Our lung transplant program is one of the dominant lung transplant centers in the United States and is currently supported by six thoracic surgeons and five pulmonologists. To date, we have performed >1100 lung transplants and average approximately 80-100 per year. Our quality outcomes and survival rates are among the highest in the country. Our advanced pulmonary programs have received center of excellence designations in Pulmonary Fibrosis, LAM, Alpha 1 Antitrypsin deficiency and Bonnie J. Addario for lung cancer screenings and management. Primary clinical responsibility will be in the lung transplant and advanced pulmonary disease program. Additional interest or experience in Pulmonary Hypertension would be preferred for this position.
Requirements include clinical experience with lung transplant patients either during or post fellowship training and board eligible/certification in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- MD or DO degree
- Successful completion of Residency and Pulmonary & Critical Care Fellowship
- Board Certified or Eligible in Pulmonary & Critical Care
- Must have or be eligible for Arizona State medical licensure
- Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital/surgical privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals
- A passion for providing excellent clinical care
- Willing to abide by and promote the values of Common Spirit Health
Pay Range
$168.27 - $254.42 /hour
