Board Certified or Board Eligible Pulmonary Critical Care physician needed to join 4 other physicians in practice due to a retirement - located on the banks of the Mississippi River.
Job Description:
• Inpatient, Outpatient, ICU, Shared Call and Procedures
• Practice Setting: medical, surgical, trauma, adult
• Number of Critical Care Physicians in Group: 4 full-time
• Schedule: Monday-Friday + call (1:4 every 4th night, every 4th weekend)
• Average Number of ICU Patients Per Day: max 20 with nurse practitioner support
• Average Number of Inpatient (non ICU) Patients per Physician per Day: up to 10
• Average Number of Admissions per Physician per Day: 5
• Trauma Level/Designation III
• Total Number of Beds: 500
• Number of ICU Beds: 20
• Will the physician be required to supervise other health care providers? Yes, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Will the physician be involved in covering/supervising teaching services? Yes, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Documentation System/EMR: Cerner
• Ventilation Management Procedures Required: ETT/NT/Tracheostomy, BiPAP/CPAP
• Required Insertions: Central Line, Arterial Line, PA Catheter, Intra-Aortic Balloon pump (IABP), Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube
• Diagnostic/Therapeutic Taps Required: Thoracentesis, Paracentesis
• Procedures Required: Chest tube insertion, Bronchoscopy, Bronchoscopy w/ Bronchial alveolar lavage (BAL), Evaluation and Management of Acute Volume/BP Issues, Pulmonary Function Testing, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing, Bronchoprovocation Testing, Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS), Interstitial and Granulomatous Lung Disease
• Treatment and Management of Asthma, Bronchiolitis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Interstitial Lung Disease, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Pneumonia, Sarcoidosis, Pulmonary Nodules, Pulmonary Vascular Disease
• Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
• Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible (must have plans to test) in Pulmonary Disease AND Board Certified or Board Eligible (must have plans to test) in Critical Care Medicine
• Completed fellowship in Pulmonary Disease/Critical Care Medicine is required prior to start (new graduates accepted)
• Cannot accept providers who have any malpractice cases that are in Probate or that require supervision. Clean malpractice is preferred.
