SSM Health Dean Medical Group, a 500-physician multi-specialty group, is recruiting for a physician BE/BC in Pulmonary as well as Critical Care Medicine to split time between the Pulmonary Medicine group at its Madison clinic, located adjacent SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, and the Critical Care Medicine group located at SSM St. Mary's Hospital. Pulmonary Medicine details:

  • In addition to clinic work, each Pulmonologist will work at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital handling inpatient consults on a rotating basis, one week at a time.
  • Call is shared among all the physicians proportionate to their pulmonary FTE and would be approximately 1:10-11 weeks for a 0.5 FTE pulmonary position. This can vary depending on overall pulmonary FTE of the individual and the group.
  • The clinic includes PFT lab, radiography, and laboratory services on-site.
  • Currently five pulmonologists are supported by 2-3 MAs, two RNs, multiple scheduling staff, two RTs and an Office Manager.
  • Participate in monthly informal case conferences, weekly multidisciplinary thoracic tumor board.
  • Pulmonologists spend 2-4 days per month working at one of SSM Dean's satellite offices in a surrounding community.
  • Pulmonologists with a special interest and expertise in EBUS are welcome to include that in their practice.
  • Pulmonologists with interest in Sleep Medicine could incorporate that in their practice (optional)
  • Our group includes an Interventional Pulmonologist whose practice includes EBUS and robot-assisted bronchoscopy, tracheal stenting, rigid bronchoscopy, endobronchial valves amongst others.
  • The geographic catchment area for our patients is large, resulting in a diverse mix of patients with wide breadth of pulmonary problems.

Critical Care Medicine Details:

  • Join an experienced team of nine intensivists, two nurse practitioners and engaged support staff providing quality patient care 24/7.
  • Treat a wide array of patients including post-op surgical, post-op heart surgery, neurocritical care for acute CVAs, post-operative neurosurgery patients and trauma, in addition to general medical intensive care unit with high acuity, high complexity case mix.
  • 1 week on/1 week off rotating schedule offers work/life balance, consisting of days/nights/swing shifts
  • The MICU service is a teaching service, affording one the opportunity to work with interns/residents from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
  • Midwest market competitive salary as well as signing bonus (including relocation if qualified).
