Job Title: Pulmonologist/Critical Care Physician

Compensation: Starting at $575,000 annually

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pulmonologist/Critical Care Physician to join our team in Port Arthur, TX. This employed position offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work both in the hospital setting and develop an outpatient clinic. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing procedures such as bedside tracheostomies and chest tube insertions without cardiovascular surgical backup. The role includes coverage of the ICU for two weeks each month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hospital Duties:

    • Provide comprehensive care in the ICU for two weeks each month, managing critically ill patients with a range of pulmonary and critical care conditions.
    • Perform advanced procedures including bedside tracheostomies and chest tube insertions as needed, with no CV surgical backup.
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes in the hospital setting.
  • Outpatient Clinic:

    • Develop and manage an outpatient pulmonary clinic to provide ongoing care and follow-up for patients with chronic pulmonary conditions.
    • Offer preventive care, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning for a variety of pulmonary disorders.
  • Patient Care:

    • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with complex pulmonary and critical care needs.
    • Provide patient and family education on disease management, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with hospital staff, including nurses and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate patient care and improve outcomes.
    • Engage with referring physicians and other specialists to facilitate comprehensive patient management.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine.
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort with performing bedside procedures such as tracheostomies and chest tube placements.
  • Unrestricted medical license to practice in Texas (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
