Join a team that’s Changing What’s Possible – The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy & Sleep Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a pulmonary/critical care physician‐scientist with expertise in basic or translational research relating to pulmonary and critical care diseases with an emphasis in Sarcoidosis. The Division is looking for a talented investigator for the Dave Savula Endowed Chair for Sarcoidosis Research who will be able to actively contribute to their expanding portfolio of research.
The Susan Pearlstine Sarcoidosis Center of Excellence at MUSC is internationally recognized as a World Association for Sarcoidosis and Other Granulomatous Diseases (WASOG) and Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR) designated Sarcoidosis Center of Excellence. The sarcoidosis center’s mission is to stive for positive outcomes by meeting the needs of sarcoidosis patients through patient-centered compassionate and evidence based multidisciplinary care. Over the last decade the center has grown into one of the largest clinics in the country specializing in caring for sarcoidosis patients with the most severe manifestations of the disease.
The Division has been regularly listed in the top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report and takes great pride in providing outstanding clinical care to all patients. Home to three fellowship programs, the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy & Sleep Medicine also offers a NIH-funded T32 training grant for fellows who are interested in pursuing a career in clinical, translational, or basic research.
We are seeking candidates with:
- MD, MD/PhD or equivalent (In special circumstances, applicants with PhD only may be considered)
- Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary/Critical Care
- Have demonstrated the ability or future potential to lead an independent research program with likelihood of sustained extramural funding.
- Academic orientation, interest in teaching and mentorship
