Job Posting: Psychiatric Medical Director (Inpatient)

Specialty: Psychiatric Medical Director (Inpatient)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Length: Long-Term Contract - 6 months with the option to extend!
Shift Details: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Call not required but available. Flexible with shifts/schedule. Weekend call ideally, but not required.

Work Details:

• Support Staff: 1 physician during the week and 1 PA
• Patients per Day: Inpatient average census of 18 beds with an average stay of 6 days. Approximately 3-4 admits and 3-4 discharges per day.
• Patient Population/Age: Adults only, no primary alcohol/drug cases
• EMR/Charting Software: Cerner (transitioning to Epic in June 2025)
• Hospital Bed Size: 21 beds (average length of stay: 6 days)
• Skills Required: Bread and butter adult inpatient psychiatry; light administrative duties (10 hours per month) for intensive outpatient unit; no Suboxone. Provider must be in-network for Medicare and willing to enroll in TN Medicaid.

Practice Setting: Inpatient Unit with light duties in outpatient unit

Requirements:

• Board Certification: General Psychiatry
• Tennessee State License
• 6 Month Minimum Experience
• Credentialing Timeframe: 2-3 weeks for temporary privileges
