The Position: We are seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and offer the following compensation package:

  • $175,000 to $250,000+ Annual Salary (Based on Experience)

Requirements:

  • 3 or 4 Days In Person (8 AM to 5 PM) and 1 or 2 Days Remote (8 AM to 5 PM)
  • No On-Call, No Weekends, No Nights, No Holidays and No Hospital Rounding Responsibilities
  • Experience with Autism testing to include ADI and ADOS
  • Graduation from an accredited medical school, and completion of a general psychiatry residency and pediatric psychiatry fellowship
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Current BLS certification
  • Valid and current State of Florida Medical License - New Graduates Accepted
  • Valid and current DEA Registration Certificate
  • Maintain hospital privileges at the Center’s referral hospital, if required by administration
  • Maintain continuing education credits for licensure, as required
  • Ability to Pass a Level 2 Background Check and Drug Screen
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities:

As part of an integrated model of healthcare, the child psychiatrist diagnoses, prescribes medication, monitors medication side effects, and participates in the treatment proven in the field of mental health. The child psychiatrist functions in accordance with plans and policies established and performs duties within the medical setting as a member of the care team.

  • Provides direct diagnostic assessment and evaluation of patients with emotional, mental, or behavioral disorders affecting children, adolescents, and their families; coordinates care with the primary care physician; participates in treatment plan reviews
  • Maintains timely and accurate electronic medical record documentation on all patients including office visits, telephone calls, and hospital admissions/visits, if applicable
  • Makes appropriate referrals to other facilities for further testing, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care; orders and reviews appropriate lab tests and other medical procedures
  • Provides appropriate and adequate treatment to patients, with the ideal endpoint being remission of psychiatric symptoms; provides adequate appropriate education to patients
  • Participates in Peer Review and Quality Improvement initiatives
  • Oversees the broad range of the organization’s treatment modalities performed by both psychiatrists and other health professionals for the benefit of the mentally ill
  • Serves patients in a warm accepting and respectful manner; does not impose his/her values on the patient
  • Periodic supervision and teaching of residents, medical students, and other allied health professional
