Centurion of Florida is proud to be the provider of mental health services to the Florida Department of Corrections. We are seeking a full-time Board Certified Psychiatrist to join our team at Lake Correctional Institution located in Clermont, Florida 25 miles west of Orlando. Practice in a large male correctional institution providing inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services, as well as, training and mentoring PGY3 psychiatric residents.
The Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for patients, works under the supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director, and provides clinical leadership for a multidisciplinary team in providing mental health services to patients with psychiatric disorders or other mental health issues.
Job Qualifications:
- Documentation of education as MD or DO and completion of accredited residency program required
- Current license to practice medicine in Florida required
- Board Certification for certification in Psychiatry required
- Must have an active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificate
- Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification
- Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing as psychiatrist in a clinical setting preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in an clinical setting
- Experience in correctional mental health care or locked unit preferred

- Monday-Friday
- Day Shift
- All full-time Psychiatrists participate in rotational on-call approximately every 6 to 8 weeks. The on-call lasts for 7 days / 24 hours per day and is compensated above and beyond the guaranteed annual salary.
