o Choose your own practice model:
100% inpatient
100% outpatient
Combination of inpatient/outpatient
o Seeking BC in Adult Psychiatry; also ideal: BC in Child/Adolescent or Geriatric
o New, cutting-edge 2019 hospital – 50 psychiatric beds
o Practice includes five admitting psychiatrists, as well as psychologists, therapists and clinic supervisor, manager of care management/utilization review (inpatient)
o Full-time Addiction Medicine physician covers the unit during the week
o Advanced Practice Provider inpatient and outpatient coverage
o Full complement of inpatient staff: RN’s LPN’s Assistants, Clerks, Social Work, and Recreational Therapy, as well as Senior Service Line Director
o Currently 32 adult inpatient beds, 6 youth beds and 10 inpatient residential subacute detox beds
o Collegial, supportive practice; cohesive, hospital-employed psychiatric group
o Current inpatient volume of 21 with support of 2 APP’s; outpatient volume of 17 patients/day
o Schedule hours are flexible
o Weekly hours: Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm
o No practice call: calls are routed to local crisis line
o 1:4 weekend call with goal of 1:6; approx. 1 night of call per week
o Michigan State University Family Medicine Residency Program affords teaching opportunities for providers
