The Hospital:

Established in 1976, the Hospital serves a 10-county area in south-central Kentucky at its 295-bed acute care facility and a number of stand-alone outpatient centers. With more than 40 physician specialties and nearly 200 physicians on staff, they offer the most comprehensive medical services in the region, including complete cardiac care, a level II neonatal nursery, and a neurosurgery program rated among the best in the nation. They are accredited by The Joint Commission and has been awarded their Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Care and Spine Surgery Certification, as well as the Commission on Cancer certification and Chest Pain Center accreditation with PCI from the American College of Cardiology.

The Community:

At the heart of Kentucky is a beautiful Lake, a 65,000-acre lake with 1,200 miles of shoreline and a wealth of recreational opportunities including fishing, water sports, and house boating. The local State Park is Kentucky’s only state park located on an island and offers a peaceful retreat for campers, boaters, and golfers. Four additional golf courses call the area home, as does a National Forest and Falls State Park. The “Niagara of the South” – boasts the Western Hemisphere’s only moonbow, in addition to white-water rafting, hiking, and canoeing.

The community also plays host to the Center for Rural Development, which brings nationally recognized performing and visual arts, concerts, and other special events to the community, as well as the Somernites Cruise, the state’s largest car and cruise show. Community College offers local educational opportunities, as do seven other colleges and universities within 75 miles.

We’re here because we want to help people and make our communities be the best they can be. We stand behind our mission statement so much, we call it our noble purpose: delivering care that changes people’s lives.

If you’re here for the same reason, we’d love to talk to you. We believe working with us is more than just a job – it’s a purpose.
