Job Description
This Central Georgia mental health facility is seeking a board certified/board eligible Adult and/or Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who will provide direct inpatient clinical care to individuals admitted to the recovery center. These patients experience symptoms of mental illness, addiction, co-occurring disorders, or developmental disabilities.
The recovery center offers a full spectrum of evidence-based crisis stabilization treatments for behavioral health needs. Care is provided 24 hours a day, seven days per week, by professional and licensed staff. Clinical detoxification or psychiatric stabilization services are based on comprehensive assessments toward a plan to build an individualized foundation for ongoing recovery. Clinical need is continually assessed, with the person served an active contributor to the planning process.
A local alternative to hospitalization, the 44-bed center includes two crisis stabilization units – one for adults and one for children and adolescents ages 5-14. Each specialized environment features unique supports focused on soothing, stabilizing, and strengthening individuals with behavioral health needs for return to a productive and meaningful life in the community.
Day to day duties may include, but are not limited to:
Provide psychiatric initial evaluation, ongoing assessments, and/or crisis assessments
Provide patient education on diagnosis, medication, monitoring response to treatment and side effects of medication, informed consent, treatment adherence, and other individualized topics.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate from a medical school recognized by AND an active Physician license granted by the Georgia composite state board of medical examiners AND certification in one of the following specialties: General Psychiatry
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 2 years of post-licensure psychiatric experience working with adults in a mental health setting.
This facility is Central Georgia’s largest and most comprehensive provider of community-based mental health, chemical dependency and developmental disability treatment and supports. Mental health and addiction services include: outpatient psychiatry; individual, group, and family counseling; intensive outpatient/day services; residential short-term stabilization for detox or psychiatric crises; two extended residential addiction treatment sites; and other housing and supported employment for clients.
