Locum Physician - Psychiatry in Suffolk, VA

Join a reputable inpatient adult psychiatric facility known for its focus on behavioral medicine. This center is centrally located in Virginia and provides a supportive environment for both patients and staff. The facility is currently seeking a locum psychiatrist to cover starting as soon as credentialed.

Practice Setting: Inpatient Adult Psychiatric Facility
Reason for Coverage: Coverage needed due to psychiatrist’s leave and future vacation needs.
Patient Demographics: Adults aged 18 and above
Total Number of Beds: 54

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychiatric assessment and treatment for a diverse adult patient population.
  • Manage an average caseload of 8 patients on weekdays and 16-20 on weekends.
  • Participate in weekend calls from Friday at 4 PM through Monday at 7:59 AM.
  • Utilize EPIC for documentation and electronic health records.
  • Implement treatment for a range of disorders including anxiety, affective, and psychotic disorders.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of 3 other psychiatrists.
  • Ensure safety and security measures are adhered to in the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in Psychiatry - REQUIRED
  • Valid Virginia Medical License - REQUIRED
  • 100% Clean Background - REQUIRED
  • Must be a local provider; drive-in candidates only.

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Board Certification in Psychiatry
  • Current Virginia Medical License
