Barton Associates is seeking a Psychiatrist for a locum tenens assignment at a clinic in New Jersey. This opportunity involves providing psychiatric care starting 04/28/2025, for a duration of 72 days. The schedule requires a minimum of 18 hours per week, with the option to work up to 25 hours. One day per week must be in-person, while the remaining hours can be conducted via telehealth. The psychiatrist will primarily serve Spanish-speaking patients (90% of the patient population), conducting new patient evaluations and managing medications for conditions such as bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, and some cases of schizophrenia. Comfort working with translator services is essential.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Conduct new patient psychiatric evaluations

• Manage medications for patients with bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety

• Treat patients with schizophrenia and other mental health conditions

• Perform 45-60 minute initial evaluations and 15-30 minute follow-up appointments

• Work effectively with Spanish-speaking patients using translator services

• Provide both in-person and telehealth psychiatric care

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using AdvancedMD system

• Collaborate with clinic staff and other healthcare professionals

• Ensure high-quality patient care and maintain professional standards

• Adapt to the clinic's protocols and procedures for psychiatric care

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff in a diverse setting


Additional Information:

• New Jersey medical license required

• Fluency in Spanish preferred, but not required

• Experience in outpatient psychiatric care essential

• Comfort with managing diverse mental health conditions

• Ability to work both in-person and via telehealth platforms

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AdvancedMD

• Potential for assignment extension beyond the initial 72 days
