Locums Psychiatry Need in Iowa

Coverage Needed:

• June 2025 - ongoing
• Schedule: Monday - Sunday, 8am - 5pm
• Weeknight call and weekend call possible
• 7 days on/7 days off rotation
• Cover 2 campuses

Clinical Details:

• Provider will round in the morning, and every third day they will take a turn managing all hospital calls/consults, etc. (during shift hours)
• Inpatient Psychiatry (adult and adolescent units), Hospital Consults, ER Consults
• Supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APP)
• Average Number of Patients Per Day: 5-12
• Total Number of Beds: 18 adults, 5 adolescents
• Support Staff: 2 Advanced Practice Providers, 1 part-time inpatient psychiatrist
• EMR: Cerner
• Trauma Level: III
• Referral/Transfer Protocol: another facility, 40 minutes by car
• Security measures in place on each campus

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Psychiatry
• IA license or IMLC
• Inpatient experience
• Experience treating patients ages 6 and up
• Required Treatment Disorders: Anxiety Disorders, Affective Disorders, ADD/ADHD, Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders, Developmental Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Organic Disorders
• Required to have familiarity with: Family Therapy, Restraint Application, Group Therapy, Pharmacotherapy, Seclusion therapy, Voluntary Commitments, ER
• 2+ years of inpatient psychiatry experience - Highly Preferred
• Must be able to work 7 days on/7 days off
