Start Date: 6/2/2025 Contract Length: 6 months, ongoing Will consider local candidates first Must be ok with supervising APPs Main location will be BHH adult unit inpatient Specialty: Psychiatry Shift Details: 12 hour shifts Schedule: 7 days on/off Support staff: MD, APPs, residents Amount of coverage needed per month: 14 shifts per month (7 on/off) Patients Per Day: 16-18 under psychiatrists supervision with added support of residents and or APP’s Patient Population/Age: Adults 18+ Department description: The adult unit is an 80-bed crisis stabilization unit staffed with RNs, MHTs, CSWs, RTs, APPs, Residents and MDs. Patient length of stay is 2-5 days and as a residency training program, we work to incorporate education into each interaction. There are typically 2 MDs, 1 APP, and 2-4 residents/medical students on a given day EMR: EPIC Hospital Bed Size: 80 beds Practice Setting: Academic/Training, Hospital Board Certified/ Board Eligible – Required Active NC License – Required DEA, CSR – Required Minimum Experience Required: 1 year On weekdays, the Adult Unit is staffed with 2 MDs, 2 APPs, and Residents. There is a morning meeting at 8:30 every day to discuss the entire census with nursing and social work. On weekends, the Adult Unit is staffed with 1 MD, 2 APPs and Resident Supervision: You must see and staff each patient the residents are assigned. You do not have to see each patient assigned to the APP, but you must staff each of their patients IVC: 1. For patients who are admitted as IVC, you must complete the 2nd exam within 24 hours of admit to the unit. 2. For patients who are discharged, you must fax the “rescind IVC” form for each IVC patient to let the court aware of their discharge. 3. For patients who are admitted as voluntary but IVC during their admission, you must complete the first petition for IVC, and have another provider (or resident) complete the 2nd evaluation after the patient has been served by the sheriff. The AC can coordinate the faxing of the IVC petition and the serving of papers TTS inpatient consult delineation is by whether patient has been admitted to the hospital, not the physical location of a patient.
