The Department of Psychiatry at Stamford Health is seeking a full-time nocturnist psychiatrist to provide overnight psychiatric coverage to our emergency department, 24-bed inpatient psychiatry unit, and medical /surgical floors. Both experienced psychiatrists and new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities

Three 15-hour overnight shifts per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5pm to 8am, totaling 45 hours per week
Clinical responsibilities include emergency department evaluations, inpatient admissions, inpatient coverage for emergent issues, and consultations to the medical / surgical floors.
Coordinate patient flow between our emergency department, medical / surgical units, and our 24-bed inpatient psychiatry unit.
Help build a collaborative relationship with medical staff from other departments.
No mandatory on call. Additional moonlighting hours are available if desired.
