Job Description:
A secure inpatient mental health facility near Elgin, IL, is seeking a Staff Psychiatrist to join their team on a long-term basis. The position involves providing psychiatric evaluations and care for approximately 25 patients per week, with a focus on forensic and civil patient populations. The provider will be responsible for conducting thorough psychiatric assessments, documenting medication changes, and providing leadership in managing patient care within a multidisciplinary treatment team. The role also includes attending committee meetings, testifying in court when needed, and ensuring adherence to facility and state regulations. The position offers a Monday through Friday work schedule, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility and no weekend or holiday shifts.

Requirements:

• Current Illinois Medical License
• Current Illinois Controlled Substance Certificate
• Current DEA Certificate
• At least 1 year of experience working with psychiatric patients (forensic or corrections experience preferred but not required)
