Our client, a leading health system committed to excellence, is hiring a Psychiatrist. They are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our community. The General Psychiatrist will provide inpatient psychiatric care for adults in a 24-bed unit. The position is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with one night call and one weekend call per month. This is an inpatient-only position, and the psychiatrist will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive mental health services to patients in an acute care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient psychiatric care to adult patients in the 24-bed unit.
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment as necessary, and provide ongoing support.
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions to ensure coordinated and effective care.
- Provide psychiatric assessments and consultations as needed for medical and surgical units.
- Provide education and guidance to patients and families on psychiatric conditions and treatment options.
- Participate in on-call coverage as required (one night call and one weekend call per month).
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical records.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified in Psychiatry (must be completed within two years of completing residency).
- At least 3 years of experience in general psychiatry, preferably in an inpatient setting.
- Boarded in Addiction Medicine is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and deliver high-quality patient care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload in a fast-paced, clinical setting.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- 1 night call and 1 weekend call per month.
