JOB SUMMARY:

The Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric services in the rural health clinic and critical access hospital, utilizing an Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) model to deliver collaborative, patient-centered care. The role involves diagnosing and treating mental health disorders, coordinating care with primary care, behavioral health teams, and critical access hospital, as well as supporting the clinic's mission to improve community mental health outcomes. The physician will participate in quality assurance programs, peer review processes, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. The position also entails involvement in administrative tasks, utilization review activities, and attendance at clinic, department, and hospital meetings as required by Livingston HealthCare Medical Staff Bylaws.

Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses for patients with a variety of mental health conditions.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
Collaborate under LHC’s Integrated Behavioral Health model with primary care providers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care plans and integrate psychiatric care into the broader healthcare framework.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in the electronic health record system.
Provide crisis intervention and support for patients experiencing acute mental health episodes.
Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
Engage in community outreach programs to promote mental health awareness and reduce

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS (Required):

Valid state medical license to practice in Montana or ability to obtain licensure.
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
DEA registration and other necessary certifications for practice.
Experience working in an Integrated Behavioral Health setting is preferred.
Strong commitment to patient-centered care and community health.
Excellent communication, community leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Experience in rural healthcare settings preferred.
