We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatrist to join our outpatient mental health team in Schenectady, NY. The Psychiatrist will provide high-quality psychiatric care to patients in an outpatient setting. This role involves diagnosing and treating a variety of mental health disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety, depression, and other psychiatric conditions, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations for new and existing patients, including thorough assessments of medical histories and presenting symptoms.
Develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on diagnostic evaluations and treatment goals.
Provide ongoing medication management for patients with mental health disorders, including prescriptions and adjustments as needed.
Offer psychotherapy services, including individual, group, or family therapy, as appropriate.
Provide crisis intervention and make referrals to inpatient care or other specialists as needed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, psychologists, social workers, and nursing staff to coordinate patient care.
Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
Participate in on-call rotations as needed, providing support during emergencies or after-hours situations.
