The Mental Health & Behavioral Science Service Line at the Salisbury VA Health Care System is seeking seasoned Psychiatrists to provide care to a diverse veteran population with a good deal of mental health related issues to include but not limited to Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Severe Mental Illness, Substance Use Disorders, and medical co-morbidities.

Position Requirements:

Board Certified

Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine/osteopathic medicine.

Provides psychiatric care in inpatient units, ambulatory programs, residential program for substance abuse, residential program for PTSD, emergency department, medical-surgical ward, geriatrics with extended programs as required.

Experience working with an interdisciplinary team of Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and several other allied mental health professionals.

Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.

Proven understanding of the contexts and systems in which healthcare is provided, and an ability to apply this knowledge to improve optimizing health.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50–55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
