Shifts/Options: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (No weekends, no holidays, no after-hours on-call; possibility of 4 / 10-hour shifts)

Job Description:
We are seeking a Staff Psychiatrist for an opportunity near Sparta, IL, at a hospital serving a forensic and civil mental health population. The role is 100% onsite, with full-time hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. There is potential for flexible scheduling, including 4 / 10-hour shifts. The psychiatrist will work with a caseload of 30 patients per week and provide comprehensive psychiatric care, including documentation of medication changes, monthly progress notes, psychiatric evaluations, fitness reports, and attending committee meetings.

Duties include performing psychiatric evaluations, reviewing seclusion and restraints, providing treatment plans, testifying in court, and participating in continuing education workshops. The psychiatrist will be responsible for leadership in managing patients' care and maintaining awareness of facility policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Current Illinois Medical License
• Current Illinois Controlled Substance Certificate
• Current DEA Certificate
• BC/BE in Psychiatry
• Experience working with psychiatric patients

• The facility is a maximum-security, all-male hospital with low or non-existent incidents due to the high security
• Average weekly admissions: 5-7 per week
• Average weekly discharges: 5-7 per week
