Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Principal Psychiatrist to join our team. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care and clinical leadership within a correctional facility. The position operates on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, with responsibilities that include direct patient care, supervision of multi-disciplinary treatment teams, and administrative oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Care and Oversight :

    • Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with psychiatric illnesses and substance use disorders.
    • Conduct and oversee psychotherapy, medication management, and other treatments tailored to psychiatric and substance use disorders.
    • Offer 24-hour supervision for specific patient groups and provide facility coverage as needed, including on-call and weekend rotations.
    • Coordinate and oversee the work of medical staff, including treatment plan reviews, adherence to policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Qualifications:

    • Expertise :

      • Strong knowledge of psychiatric and behavioral health medicine, including current methods for treating psychiatric and substance use disorders.
      • Proficiency in recent developments and best practices in psychiatry, including treatment models for substance abuse.
    • Skills :

      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
      • Strong administrative and supervisory abilities, with the capacity to oversee staff and manage complex cases.
