Leadership Overview:

  • 75% Administrative, Supervision, Management, 10% Expertise:
    • Direct the implementation of services as Medical Director.
    • Oversee union, non-union, and contractual staff as a foil-line supervisor.
    • Manage medical program operations and participate in the hospital's clinical and management team.
    • Serve as a facility expert on mental health laws, regulations, and trends.
  • 25% Investigation and Other Duties:
    • Conduct incident investigations and reporting.
    • Perform clinical and additional tasks as required.

Staff/Attending Overview:

  • Lead multidisciplinary treatment team of three social workers, one psychologist and one activity therapist to design and execute treatment plans for patients assigned to your caseload.
  • Perform unit psychiatric evaluations.
  • Attending assigned committee meetings.
  • Participate in Hospital Peer Review program.
  • If applicable, testify in court regarding involuntary commitment, fitness to proceed, involuntary administration of medications and other issues (as required)

Work Schedule:

  • Weekdays Only: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. Earliest start time is 7 AM, and the latest end time is 6 PM. No holidays or weekends required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Illinois Medical License or the ability to obtain one.
  • Current Illinois Controlled Substance Certificate and DEA Certificate.
  • BC/BE certification in Psychiatry from the American Board of Medical Specialties.
  • Proven expertise in psychiatric patient care
