Premier Physician Services, LLC is currently working with their client in the State of Missouri to fill the role of Medical Director within their Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center located in St. Joseph, MO.

Job Responsibilities

As an integral executive team member, responsibilities of the Medical Director include oversight of clinical services and operations in keeping with TJC, CMS, Missouri State Statutes, and other standards related to facility operations. The Medical Director will function as the senior medical officer of the facility, represent the Medical Staff to the hospital Governing Body, and be responsible, assisted by the Chair of the Medical Staff Executive Committee, for the credentialing and privileging process for clinical staff. The Medical Director will serve on the hospital Forensic Review Committee. The Medical Director will work to improve the overall quality of care in our facility, develop cooperation between the Medical Staff and other Departments, enhance relationships and monitor contracts with those vendors who work under the purview of the Medical Staff, assist the Chief Executive Officer in maintaining emergency preparedness, supervise educational and research efforts with clinical students and resident physicians and pharmacists from a number of educational entities, and be dedicated to promoting the trust and professionalism of our facility within the community. The Medical Director is expected to have good managerial and organizational skills, as well as excellent medical knowledge and training.
The ideal candidate will possess personal and professional commitment to the treatment of individuals with a Serious and Persistent Mental Illness, including values consistent with Trauma Informed Care, Recovery Based Practice, Advocacy and Stigma-Reduction, Client Choice and Empowerment.

Qualifications

• A Medical degree MD/DO, and board certification in Psychiatry is required.
• Forensic Psychiatry board certification and/or work experience is preferred.
• An unrestricted license to practice medicine in Missouri.
• An unrestricted DEA and Missouri BNDD certificate.
• Three or more years' experience in hospital administration or other managerial positions is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Good computer and electronic record skills.
