A health services organization in Brooklyn is currently seeking a licensed Adult Psychiatrist for a promising opportunity atone of their outpatient mental health facilities. In this role, the Adult Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing services that include a comprehensive program of evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients over 18 years of age whose primary diagnosis is a psychiatric disorder.

Responsibilities:

The Adult Psychiatrist will be responsible for:

• Admission and discharge of patients, including psychiatric examination, evaluation and assessment
• Providing lethality assessments, suicide precautions and forensic evaluations, when needed
• Ordering laboratory tests or diagnostic assessments, including consultation with medical specialty providers
• Performing first aid and medical triage, including initial physical examination on new admissions in the event a Physician is not on site
• Providing restraint and seclusion
• Performing other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York
• Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
• Valid National Provider Identification Number (NPI)
• Valid Federal Narcotics Number (DEA Number)
• Enrolled in CMS and remain an unconditional participating provider in the Medicare and Medicaid OPRA programs
• Must enroll in NYS Medicaid as a Billing Provider or an Ordering, Referring and Attending Prescriber
• Must enroll in NYS Internet System for Tracking Over-Prescribing/Prescription Monitoring Program (I-STOP/PMP)
